An arts educator and acting coach since 2002, Joel has taught over 2000 students over his tenure, ranging in age from 7 to 97. He has taught for Diablo Valley College, California Shakespeare Theatre, Town Hall Theatre, Rossmoor, Berkeley Playhouse, and others. His students have gone on to successful careers in theatre, stage, and film, as well as attending heralded schools of higher learning, including Carnegie Mellon, The Actors Studio, Tisch, RADA, The Gaiety Theatre, Steppenwolf, and many others.
With expertise in audition preparation, voice & diction, focus, character development, scene study, and Shakespeare, Joel tailors each session to his students’ needs and ambitions with an emphasis on comfortability and safety.
